Mini One...Done!

Thank You for all your prayers and encouragement for Kyle as he took Mini 1 last Monday! They definitely worked - God is so good, and Kyle did amazing on his exam! I normally grade his tests for him, and he always anxiously paces around the room until I tell him I'm finished... it's a fun little ritual we have :) But honestly, thank you for your support - it means the world to us!

So, of course, we headed to the beach after Kyle was done taking his exam. We both agreed this was the best "Beach Bash" so far! It was also great that Kyle has his minis in the morning this semester so we can be at the beach until noon. The weather was great, SGA provided free food, and most of our friends were there. Kyle even did a water relay where he had to paddle around the dock on a surf board, while I went tubing with Czarina. We had a blast!

Then for dinner we headed to Purple Turtle with Ryan and Ashley. This is the restaurant on the beach named - you guessed it - Purple Turtle, where we swung from the rope swing. We had never eaten there so we thought we would give it a try. Well, it was definitely an experience... Kyle's cheeseburger was great, but Ryan, Ashley and I all ordered chicken and it didn't really look the greatest. We tried a little bit, but our dinners mainly consisted of fries. All in all though, it was a great day & night with great friends - and finally, a chance to relax!

Check out our tans! Well, actually, check out Kyle's sun burnt face! (he's still peeling!)

Even though our chicken dinners weren't so great, we still put them to good use. Kyle and I have some what adopted our neighbor's dog, who we like to call "Pup." Pup is probably one of the ugliest dogs you will ever see, but also one of the most loving and excited. We became a little attached to him, so whenever we have leftovers that we don't save, Kyle LOVES to go feed Pup. So, you can imagine Kyle and Pup's excitement when we came home with 3 boxes full of chicken!

Well, ever since Pup's chicken feast, he just won't leave us alone! He definitely knows who we are, because every time we come down the stairs, he waits to see who it is, and then comes bounding down the stairs and follows us where we're walking. He's even followed us up to our apartment a few times, expecting to walk right in. And when I tell him, "No Pup, you have to go home!" He walks around outside our door and even jumps up so he can peer in the windows! Needless to say, I think we've made another Dominican friend :)

To add to the "academic celebrations," Wednesday night we went to the Dean's Reception. Basically, I got to put on a pretty dress to celebrate how well Kyle's done at Ross so far and we talked to some of Kyle's professors :) Also, I got to meet the dean of the school - and guess where she got her medical degree: Ohio State! She's a big time Buckeye fan! So we got to chat about Ohio, which was fun. The reception was just one more reminder of how God has remained faithful... and the amazing doctor He promises Kyle will be!
