call us crazy, but a few days shy of being 9 month pregnant, kyle and i hopped in the car and drove out to ohio for our last baby shower. (i was just a little nervous about going into labor and having baby girl along the way, but our doctor checked me out before i went and said, though he can't make any guarantees, i should be good to go!)
but the trip was so worth it... i hadn't been to ohio or seen my family (other than my mom & grandparents from florida) my entire pregnancy! and though i'm sure my brother would have survived, i always just thought, this is such a big time in my life and matt hasn't even seen my big baby belly! it was a totally last minute trip, just planned a week or two in advance. it was a long drive (9 hours there with the time change!) we didn't even leave milwaukee until 9pm (we did sneak in a stop at kyle's parent's house, which was great!) but like i said, so worth it...
i am so so very thankful that most of the family was able to get together (we missed those that weren't!) i'm so grateful to my mom for opening up her home to hosting everyone and making yummy food, all last minute. THANK YOU momma! once again, we just felt loved surrounded by family. we were showered in gifts and well wishes. and we just got to relax and "be" with everyone. i loved it. kyle even got to sneak in some football-watching (yeah ohio state!) i'll always look back on that crazy last minute trip and smile. so happy we went. and so happy ellery got to take her first trip to ohio!
